This booklet was initially conceived and written by Barbara Kates, Kathleen Caldwell, and Bette Hoxie in April, 2000. 

Funding for research, layout and printing came from the Brookdale Foundation and the Maine Department of Human Services. 

Layout was provided by Kimberly Osgood. The booklet was most recently revised in March 2007 with assistance from Jan Bisbee, Barbara Kates, Kathleen Caldwell, Ellen Gray and Noreen Peters.  Thank you to many grandparents for their direction on the key issues.
